At Timeline, our mission remains clear: to provide financial advisers with the investment solutions, tools, technology, and support they need to deliver exceptional outcomes for their clients. Our recent quarterly company meeting highlighted significant progress across multiple fronts, all designed to enhance the client and adviser experience and expand our capabilities.
The first half of 2025 has been marked by substantial growth in our adviser community. We've welcomed dozens of new firms to the Timeline family, expanding our network of financial advisers who trust us with their clients' financial futures. This growth reflects our continued commitment to providing exceptional service and innovative solutions.
We've also significantly expanded our team to better serve our growing adviser base, ensuring we maintain the high level of personal service our community values, while building for long-term, sustainable growth.
One of the most exciting developments for our adviser community is the upcoming launch of our multi-asset fund range, which has received FCA approval and will be available across platforms soon. This new fund combines our evidence-based investment approach with highly competitive pricing at just 0.20% per annum, well below typical industry levels. This represents a significant expansion of our offering, providing advisers with new investment solutions and opening additional distribution channels.
Our track record speaks for itself: our evidence-based model portfolios have consistently delivered top-quartile performance, giving clients confidence in their investments while maintaining our focus on low-cost, diversified strategies rooted in decades of academic research and Nobel Prize-winning expertise.
We're also enhancing our platform proposition with new competitive pricing: 0.15% for assets under £500,000 and 0.6 % for assets above £500,000. This structure is designed to offer outstanding value while supporting advisers' ambitions to grow.
Our Chief Investment Officer, Nicki Hinton-Jones CFA, said, "We’re proud to be expanding our range of investment solutions—offering advised clients access to cost-effective, high-quality strategies built on sound investment principles. By partnering with leading institutional providers, we’re ensuring our clients benefit from both value and expertise."
At the foundation of every good software, you have something that just works.
It works so seamlessly, you wonder how other software has glitches. You can find your way around so easily that it feels like you have been using it for years. And it can handle edge cases that surprise you.
In other words, it just works.
Behind the scenes of software like this is a lot of work with the software’s users, much thought on technical architecture and a lot of discipline on what we don’t need to keep things simple.
Timeline is grounded on these principles, but in 2025, we have put extra investment into a fourth principle: the great spring clean! Sorting out niggling little usability issues, solving edge cases and squashing every bug we can find!
Our systems are now meaningfully stronger. LoAs that you send off and get a response even more reliably. Factfind templates, which are now easier to set up. Reports which are faster to generate and can be designed in many more ways.
Our Chief Product Officer, Thomas Hogg, said: “Sometimes you need to slow down to speed up. That’s what we have done, building the rock-hard foundations of the software your firm deserves. And this focus is staying for the long term. Stability and strength are now built into how every team works. It is a key part of the future of Timeline’s technology.”
Behind the scenes, our data team is building a centralised data infrastructure that will enable more sophisticated cross-platform analytics, helping advisers make better-informed decisions for their clients. We're also exploring AI applications to automate manual processes in client onboarding and reporting, reducing the administrative burden for advisers.
Our roadmap includes several initiatives specifically designed to enhance the adviser experience:
We're also continuing to invest in system stability and reliability, ensuring our technology infrastructure remains robust and dependable for all our adviser partners.
As a remote-first organisation, we continue to optimise our collaboration and connection methods. This approach allows us to attract top talent from across the UK, ultimately benefiting our adviser community through access to the best minds in financial technology and investment management.
We're well-positioned to continue expanding our capabilities whilst maintaining the personalised service that our adviser community values. Every milestone we achieve is measured not just in growth terms, but in our ability to help advisers deliver better outcomes for their clients.
The financial advice landscape continues to evolve, and Timeline remains committed to being the technology partner that advisers can rely on for innovative solutions, robust infrastructure, and unwavering support. Our growth is driven by our advisers' success, and we're excited about the opportunities ahead as we continue to build the future of financial advice technology together.
