Description
Timeline is making it easier than ever to exchange data with its wider ecosystem through streamlined import and export capabilities.
Importing data to Timeline
Timeline provides a Bulk client import feature that enables advisers to import all clients into Timeline in one go.
Soon, users will be able to import data from a wide range of investment platforms, back-office providers, and spreadsheet uploads.
Currently, Timeline offers a custom API integration with Intelliflo, allowing advisers to import client records and their details in one go.

Exporting data from Timeline
There are two main ways to export data from Timeline:
-
Spreadsheet export — export data for multiple clients or accounts in one go.
-
Push to backoffice via connection — export client or household details individually.
Spreadsheet export
The spreadsheet export feature enables advisers to export all the data we store for a collection of clients or accounts in one go. If you use the Details for Intelliflo clients export, the resulting file can be used to update all Intelliflo client records in bulk.
Currently, the Client details export option is only available for clients imported from Intelliflo, though Timeline is actively developing functionality to support bulk export for all clients.
More details on this option can be found here: How to export client lists from Timeline
Push to backoffice via connection
The Push to backoffice feature ensures that updates made in Timeline are reflected in your back-office system. This is particularly valuable when using Timeline FactFind, helping maintain consistency across systems.
This functionality relies on an API connection with the back-office provider. At present, Timeline supports this feature only for Intelliflo, but expansion to additional providers is under consideration.

Using this feature, advisers can:
-
Create new client records in the back-office
-

First, middle, and last names

Date of birth
-
Gender

Conclusion
Timeline’s growing data integration ecosystem is designed to reduce administrative workload and improve data consistency across financial planning workflows.
With bulk import capabilities, spreadsheet exports, and real-time API synchronisation, advisers can manage client data more efficiently today while benefiting from planned integrations with additional platforms in the near future.
