A more flexible approach to portfolio analytics

By Melissa Canham 16 Feb 2026

We have released a major update to Timeline Analytics, designed to give you more flexibility, control, and clarity in how portfolio analysis and reporting are built and shared.

The Analytics revamp introduces new capabilities that support advisers across suitability, ongoing reviews, and client communication, helping analysis adapt to the conversation rather than forcing advisers into fixed reporting structures.

Why we made these changes

We know that analytics and reporting need to be adaptable. The questions you are answering, the client you are speaking with, and the stage of the advice process can all change what “good” looks like.

At the same time, many firms are focused on improving efficiency and reducing unnecessary admin. Industry research, including the Fidelity Adviser DNA Report and Investment Trends, continues to highlight time pressure and system integration as priorities across the profession. Those themes informed the direction of this update, with a focus on flexibility, clarity, and consistency.

What is new in Timeline Analytics

Custom dashboards, built your way

You can now create fully customisable dashboards by selecting and ordering charts to suit different use cases. You can also create multiple dashboards, making it easier to set up separate views for different meeting types or internal and client reporting.

Technical and client-friendly visuals together

You can now combine technical and client-friendly charts within the same dashboard. This keeps detailed analysis and client-facing visuals in one place, without switching between separate views.

Broader portfolio comparisons and flexible time periods

Portfolio comparison has been expanded to support up to six portfolios at once. Performance can also be analysed across any chosen time period, so you can align analysis to the timeframe relevant to the discussion.

Additional visualisations, including a returns versus volatility chart, provide further context around risk and return characteristics.

Benchmarks, costs, and reporting aligned to your dashboards

Inflation benchmarks are now included within performance analysis to provide additional context. Platform and advice costs are also shown within reporting, supporting clearer visibility of total costs alongside performance.

PDF exports now reflect the dashboards you build on screen, making it easier to produce client-ready outputs without additional reformatting.
