The Growth Series 2027: Six UK events to help your advice business grow smarter

More clients. More assets. More revenue. They're often the first things that come to mind when we talk about business growth. But what about building a financial advice business that's more efficient, delivers better client experiences and becomes more valuable over time?

That's the thinking behind The Growth Series 2027, brought to you by Timeline in partnership with Melo.

This January and February, we're heading to six locations across the UK for a series of free, practical half-day events designed to help financial advisers, planners and their teams step away from the day-to-day, explore fresh ideas and discover practical improvements they can make within their own firms.

With expert speakers, interactive sessions and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow advice professionals, the focus is simple: build a business that compounds.

Free to attend | 8:45am to 1:30pm | Breakfast, lunch and networking included

Practical insights from leading voices across financial advice

We've brought together expertise spanning behavioural science, financial planning, investment research, technology and business operations.

Here's what you can look forward to.

Helping clients stay invested when markets get noisy

When markets become unsettled, even the strongest financial plans can be tested by uncertainty and emotion.

In Scripts and Stories for Investing in an Uncertain World, Abraham Okusanya, CEO and Founder of Timeline, will share practical scripts, stories and analogies that advisers can use to help clients understand uncertainty, recognise the value of patience and stay focused on their long-term plans.

It's an opportunity to take away approaches you can use in real client conversations, particularly when headlines are making clients nervous.

Why good advice sometimes goes unbought

Why do clients hesitate, even when the advice is sound? And what makes them recognise the value of the service you're providing?

Bestselling author Richard Shotton will explore these questions in Why Good Advice Goes Unbought: The Behavioural Science of Positioning, Pricing and Client Decisions.

Drawing on behavioural science, Richard will look at how clients choose an adviser, interpret fees and decide whether to act, sharing practical insights into how advisers can communicate their value more effectively.

Building a stronger, more valuable business

Growth isn't just about winning new clients. It's also about how efficiently your business operates, how well it serves existing clients and how resilient it is for the future.

Victoria Hicks, CEO of Melo, and Gaynor Rigby, COO of Melo, will explore these themes in Build it well. Run it well. Sell it well.

They'll examine how stronger operations, smarter technology and improved profitability can contribute to long-term business value, whether selling your firm is part of your immediate plans or something much further down the line.

Smarter technology and investment thinking

We'll also be looking at how improvements in technology and investment strategy can support better outcomes for advisers and their clients.

Laurentius van den Worm, Timeline's Head of Investment Strategy, will explore the latest investment research across emerging markets, small caps and bonds, and what the evidence could mean for portfolio construction.

Meanwhile, Thomas Hogg, Timeline's Chief Product Officer, will demonstrate how connected planning, investing, platform and ongoing advice can help reduce friction, create capacity and improve the client experience.

Less listening. More doing.

The Growth Series isn't designed to be a morning of presentations alone.

Throughout the event, you'll have opportunities to examine challenges within your own firm, identify what's holding back capacity or client experience and explore where focused improvements could make the biggest difference.

You'll leave with:

  • A practical workbook to help you turn ideas into action.
  • Fresh insights and ideas to share with your colleagues.
  • Three focused priorities to work on over the next 90 days.

There'll also be plenty of time to exchange ideas with other advice professionals and speak directly with specialists from Timeline and Melo.
